The Miles for Smiles Motorcar Event is a charitable endurance race conceived in the style and history of the famed Italian road race, The Mille Miglia, which was the premier road race in Italy from 1927 to 1957. It showcased Ferrari, Porsche, Buggatti, Audi, Mercedes and others over a 1,000 mile course. We will bring together automotive enthusiasts and an eclectic variety of up to 40 automobiles for a unique driving experience through Indiana’s scenic, rolling countryside. And while sharing our passion, we will raise funds for the very worthy charity, The Smile Train, an international organization focused on repairing cleft lip and palate for children in developing countries. www.smiletrain.org
The Miles for Smiles Motorcar Event will start and finish at the West Baden Springs Hotel in West Baden Springs, Indiana between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. Automobiles will be released at timed intervals, and participants can enjoy the luxurious grounds of the resort, before and after their drive. The apprx. 5 hour course will take participants through southern Indiana highways and secondary roads for a day of pure motoring enjoyment along with a competitive edge based on timing individual runs. When all participants have returned, we will enjoy an anonymous auction fundraiser and an award ceremony. The West Baden Springs Hotel will provide subsidized accommodation, discounted Spa rates, and exclusive use of one of their parking lots..
Participants will pay a registration fee of $50.00 to help mitigate costs.
The architect of this event is Eric Evans. He is an automobile enthusiast and the creator of Charitable Coopers, a registered charity which provides financial and hands-on assistance to individuals and organizations in the community. www.charitablecoopers.org
Eric’s inspiration for this event is two-fold. He appreciates and enjoys the old fashioned elegance of days gone by, both the vehicles and the grand spectacle that motor events inspired; the days of driving for pure enjoyment. At the same time, he is a proud MINI owner who loves driving his automobile and who embraces the MINI concept of thinking outside the box. And he is very much a charitable minded man. So the marriage of his automotive passion and charitable pursuits has lead him to this point, the creation of the Miles for Smiles Motorcar Event.

The West Baden Springs Hotel is referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World, and when you see it, you’ll understand why. In the words of a photographer, nothing can capture its elegance like the naked eye.

You can make a special motoring event into a very special weekend and stay for a night or two to enjoy the amazing amenities which include golf, horse back riding, beautiful grounds and a world class spa with indoor and outdoor pools and hot tub. Smile Train is a BBB accredited charity that provides free cleft lip and palate surgery for hundreds of thousands of children around the world. They also empower local doctors in developing countries by providing free surgical training and education.
