How this will all work is really quite simple. Once a month our group of individuals will meet at a designated restaurant or coffee house or the like, which we shall use as our primary meeting point. At each meeting everyone will agree to contribute 20 dollars via check, written to the selected charity, for that month. Or we may decide to forgo a monetary donation and help someone who needs assistance in a more hands on approach. The ways in which we will be able to assist others is virtually endless. The goal at every meeting will be to give back in some way to the community. Never the less each member will have the opportunity to suggest the charity or worthy cause they would like the group to contribute to for that month. After some discussion we will choose one out of all the rest to be the designated recipient.
I believe that thru many small contributions that change can be made in a big way. Think about it, ...if only 13 people gave just twenty dollars then a small child with a cleft pallet could receive an operation that would restore their smile and self esteem. That same 13 people could help to fund a wish for someone with a deadly disease. Perhaps those 13 people could help alleviate a child's suffering from cancer through their contribution or contribute to the Angel Tree so that a child could enjoy Christmas.
All in all thru a Mini way we could reach out to others in need and bring perhaps just a small amount of the enjoyment that we receive on a daily basis from our autos.
Then throughout the year we will sponsor 2 or 3 auto related events in which others will be invited to participate, to help raise funds on a larger scale.
In the end no one member will be asked to contribute great amounts of time to any event and any member will have the choice to opt out entirely. .....This is all about taking the enjoyment we receive from our autos and extending it in an altruistic fashion to others in need. I hope that you will join with me in contributing to our society in a Mini way.
